MX record in practice
MX records point a domain at its inbound mail servers, each with a priority number where lower is preferred. Without them, replies to your cold email have nowhere to go, and a domain that sends mail but cannot receive it looks suspicious to receivers.
Every sending domain you set up for outbound needs working MX records pointing at the same provider as its mailboxes. MX records also reveal which email provider a company uses, which is a cheap technographic data point.
