Positive reply rate

Definition

Positive reply rate is the share of contacted prospects who reply with interest, such as agreeing to a call or asking for more information.

Positive reply rate in practice

This is the outbound metric that tracks closest to pipeline. It strips out opt outs, wrong person replies and auto responses, leaving the people who actually want to talk. Define what counts as positive before you start, and classify replies the same way every time.

Measure it per prospect, not per email sent, and split it by signal type. The point is to learn which signals produce interest, so you can spend more on those and drop the rest.
