Speed to lead

Definition

Speed to lead is the time between a lead or signal appearing and your first meaningful contact with that person or account.

Speed to lead in practice

For inbound leads, speed to lead is the gap between a form fill and the first response. For outbound, the same idea applies to signals: the gap between a trigger firing and your first touch. Either way, the reason to talk is freshest at the start.

Speed comes from systems, not effort. Detection on a schedule that matches the signal's half-life, automatic routing to an owner, and a sequence that starts without someone remembering to start it.
