Lookalike accounts

Definition

Lookalike accounts are companies that resemble your best existing customers on firmographic, technographic or behavioural traits, found to expand a target list.

Lookalike accounts in practice

Lookalike modelling starts from a seed list, usually your best customers, and finds other companies that share their traits. Some data tools do this with similarity scoring, but you can do a simple version by hand: list the five traits your best customers share and filter on all of them.

Lookalikes tell you who to watch, not when to write. Pair the list with signal detection, so the accounts that look like your customers only enter a sequence once something changes.
