Account-based marketing

Definition

Account-based marketing, ABM, treats each high value target account as a market of one, coordinating sales and marketing touches around a named account list.

Account-based marketing in practice

ABM flips the funnel. Instead of generating leads and qualifying them, you pick the accounts first, then aim ads, content, events and outreach at the buying group inside each one. It suits high contract values and long cycles, where one closed account pays for a lot of effort.

ABM and signal-based outbound fit together. The target list says who matters; signals say when to turn up the volume on a specific account rather than spreading effort evenly across all of them.
