Cost per verified contact

Definition

Cost per verified contact is the total data and enrichment spend divided by the number of contacts with a verified, deliverable email or phone number.

Cost per verified contact in practice

Cost per contact found is misleading, because a found email that bounces cost you money and reputation. Counting only verified contacts gives the real price of a reachable person, including all the lookups that returned nothing along the way.

This number tells you whether your waterfall order is right. If it climbs, a provider high in the order is returning poor data, or you are enriching accounts that should have been filtered out earlier.
